Seymour Papert, back in the 1970’s.

All this technology was ready back in the day already. We’re just beginning to have smug grad students play around with those things applied to education, only difference being they’re using store bought circuit boards.

It’s depressing that the vision of information technology as envisioned by those early pioneers and Vannevar Bush never came to pass. Perhaps there’s still time to reverse the trend.
